Cross Country Parent Meeting (7/28/14)

Hi Everyone,
This is Michelle Miller.  Julie Russell and I will be your trusty XC booster parents this season.  We're looking forward to an exciting Fall with a great group of boys, coaches and parents!  Below are a few (ok, many) announcements with important information and dates so grab a pen and your calendar!
1.  The booster meeting (for parents and the boys) will be held on Monday, July 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the Seaholm Cafeteria.  For this meeting, be sure to bring your checkbooks.  Your booster dues ($75) will be due that evening and also your XC camp registration and payment ($285).  We will also have other optional athletic apparel available that evening to order for the boys if you're interested (bring your boy so you can size correctly).
At the booster meeting, we will also have information on the XC meet schedule, XC camp, and volunteer opportunities - so bring your calendars as well!
2.  Booster fees include a shirt for the boys.  They will be "sized" at the captains practices in the morning starting next week.  So, make sure your son checks with the coach for sizing info or have him talk to one of the captains.
3.  The Birmingham Harriers Road Race is Sunday, August 3rd.  This is our team fundraiser! It is very important that we get a big turn out for the race.  Visit their website and click "register".  Spencer also sent the following information specific to the team for the boys to register and get 5 other people to register: 
"The most important fundraising event of the year is coming upon August 3rd, the Birmingham Harriers 5k race. All runners need to sign up for it and try to get 5 other people to sign up as well. Invite your family, friends, next door neighbors etc.  To sign up go then click register. Since you are part of the team you get to register for free.  When you get to the part that says coupon code enter: Seaholmharrier
Check your email after you have registered and you will see a link that you can share with others. That link in your email is your personalized link and if other people sign up through that link, it will track how many people you have gotten to sign up. It's your referral link so post it on twitter, facebook, through emails etc."
4.  Official practice starts August 13th.  To be eligible for practice on August 13th, all athletes must be registered and have a physical on file with the Seaholm Athletic Department.
5.  Camp is August 21st-25th (Thursday - Monday).  Plan on turning in paperwork and payment on the 28th at the booster meeting.  I (or one of the coaches) will email the necessary forms to fill out before the meeting.
6.  Save the date -- the banquet is scheduled forSunday, November 16th at 5:00 p.m.
